Mats are small knots and tangles in your dog's coat that can pull on the skin and cause discomfort. To keep grooming safe and stress-free, I only perform gentle de-matting in limited areas such as the face and tail.
I can carefully brush out up to 10 small mats (each smaller than a quarter) within about 30 minutes. If the coat has more significant matting, the safest and most humane option is usually a shorter haircut so your pup can feel comfortable again.
Regular monthly grooming is the best way to keep the coat long, fluffy, and tangle-free.
I want every pup to feel safe and comfortable during grooming. If your dog isn't feeling well, has heavy matting, or shows signs of stress, I may pause the appointment and happily reschedule once your pet is ready.
